3 Steps to Get Back on Track

Hi! I know, it's been far too long since I posted.

Quarantine did crazy things to all of us, myself included, but I did not mean to leave you hanging here. Before we get back into new recipes and all that fun stuff, I thought we would take a minute to reset our focus.

This has been a crazy year.

Whether it was because of quarantine, being cut off from family and friends, the disruption of a routine, the challenges of working from home, getting off track from your workout schedule, having the kids around, figuring out eLearning or just plain sitting in survival mode for the past few months, LOTS of us could use a little reset.

But where do you start?

Step 1: Reset your goals. What do you want to accomplish, why do you want to accomplish it. Knowing your WHY will help power you forward on those hard days. Writing them down will help you stay focused on those goals so you can ask yourself, does this help me get where I want to be.

Step 2: Make a Plan. If your goals include exercise, get out your planner and work in that time to move into your day. If its important to you, than make it a priority by scheduling that time with yourself and sticking to it. If your goal includes weight loss or getting your nutrition on track than stop putting off until tomorrow what you can do today! Clean out the pantry of the stuff that is getting in your way and focus on eating the right amount of nutrient rich, healthy foods (more on this to come). Make a meal plan and a shopping list.

*My Trainer Tip: you can't eat something that's not in your hand. If you don't want it to be part of your daily plan, don't buy it, don't pick it up. Set yourself up for success by having healthy options preportioned out for you to grab quickly when you are feeling rushed, or having cravings or simply to tired to think about what you are going to eat.

Step 3: Follow Through. How often have you made a plan and then forgotten all about it? Don't let that happen. That plan is a map to help you get to your goals. Follow it. Stick to your meal plans, get rest, fit in those workouts even on busy days. Every time you do something you intended to do, be proud of yourself! If you have a bad day, don't let it ruin your whole week or derail you. Go back to your why. Remember what your intentions are, and where you want to get, and KEEP GOING!!!

If you really want to get to those goals, there are going to be easy days and hard days. There will be days you want to post every meal for the world to see and other days that you are not proud of. There will be days you feel like a super hero and days that your body tells you it needs to rest, listen to it- but then get back up ad back to it.

The strength and progress will come from staying the course even when it's hard.

Forgiving yourself from a misstep but then getting right back on that trail.

Choosing to make choices for YOU.

Every step you take in the right direction will help you get there, so just keep going!!!

We are here for you to help you, guide you and support you, so please don't hesitate to reach out to any of us for help or support.
