root SUP & Fitness offers a wide variety of fitness opportunities for all ages and abilities from our location in Shepherd's Old Field Market in downtown Leonardtown, MD. Classes include rootCamp, Yoga, and Aerial Yoga. We also be offer personal and group training, as well as hosting special events and workshops! Reserve and pay for classes online through our MINDBODY App. Private groups and events are by appointment only. Land Classes

Bands Balls & Bosus

This class incorporates bands, balls, and bosus among other pieces of equipment to give your core a real challenge! Focused on building core strength, this class is safe for all fitness levels. We strive to be outside as the weather permits. Please bring your own mat! 

HARDCORE rootcamp

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) in a circuit style format combining strength and core exercises! Uses bodyweight and a variety of equipment! We strive to be outside as the weather permits. Please bring your own mat!

Strength & Balance

Work on the strength of your core to help improve your balance! This class is for all levels! From beginning to balance post-physical therapy, all the way up to the elite athlete looking to improve body awareness and joint integrity. Everyone can benefit from improved core strength and more efficient balance! Please bring your own mat!

Circuit & Cardio Training

This class will alternate between several exercises targeting different muscle groups and movement patterns with a minimum of amount of rest designed to improve muscular strength.
Intervals of various intensities with longer rests using body weight, various equipment and stationary bikes will be mixed in to improve cardiovascular fitness.

rootcamp

40-50min strength/cardio based moves using a variety of equipment (TRX, Bosu balls, dumbells, etc.) Be prepared to sweat and burn a ton of calories!!! 10-15min of stretches designed to nourish and loosen up your body. Please bring your own mat!

TRX/Core Fusion

TRX/Core Fusion is a hybrid workout using the TRX suspension trainer, TRX Rip Trainer, Bosu, gliders and bodyweight exercises in all planes of motion to work your abs, back, obliques, upper and lower body.
Eccentric and concentric movements along with single arm/leg exercises will be incorporated to build core strength and stability.

Core/Mobility

Work on building core strength and increasing mobility of your joints! This class is for all levels! Everyone can benefit from improved core strength and more overall mobility. Please bring your own mat!

root n rise rootcamp

This early morning rootcamp is designed to wake you up and set you up for a great day! Class is HIIT style and includes strength and core training as well as some cardio thrown in.

 

Yoga

 

All Levels Flow

Please bring your own mat for this beautiful, dreamy practice. You will move calmly through sun salutations and warrior poses. Luxurious hip openers and hamstring stretches will also be offered and you will finish with a lovely meditation/relaxation.

Slow Flow

Slow Flow provides release and relief to your mind, body, and soul. Your body and mind are invited to open up & let go using prana (breath) and gentle flows. After this relaxing practice you will feel ready for whatever lies ahead, physically and mentally.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is an energetic practice that emphasizes the coordination of breath and movement. This practice is both therapeutic and active in nature. Benefits include increased strength, flexibility, balance, concentration and stress reduction . All levels are welcome!

Fluid Flexibility Flow

This low intensity class is a movement snack that will consist of flexibility, mobility and steady flows with focus on controlled movements and stretching to reset your mind and body.

Strength & Flexibility Flow

Start your weekend with intention with this 60 minute Saturday practice that emphasizes strength, flexibility and mindful movement. This dynamic practice will incorporate a variety of asanas, flows and breath work to leave you feeling grounded, open and centered. 
 
All levels are welcome. Modifications/variations are offered so everyone can meet themselves where they are.

Morning Yoga Flow

A great way to start your day! Please bring your own mat for this beautiful, dreamy practice. You will move calmly through sun salutations and warrior poses. Luxurious hip openers and hamstring stretches will also be offered and you will finish with a lovely meditation/relaxation.

Power Flow

A powerful, energetic practice, moving fluidly though different poses while connecting the breathing and building strength. Open to all levels. The perfect way to close a Thursday and have your energy ready for the weekend!

Vinyasa Energy Flow

Start your mornings getting fired up and loose with this Vinyasa practice for increased energy! Work on joint mobility and build strength throughout the whole body to feel more energized during the day!

Aerial Yoga

 

                     Aerial

Come enjoy an hour in the hammock! This is a loose format consisting of some traditional yoga poses as well as gentle and fun maneuvers.

Grit n Grace

This class is great for all fitness levels! Combine strength training and aerial yoga to make a fun, total body workout! Improve your balance, strength, and flexibility using the aerial hammocks. Modifications/Options are always offered!

Kids Aerial

Bring out your kids ages 8yrs-12yrs old for a great time in the Aerial hammocks!

Sculpt & Melt

30 minutes of strength training followed by 30 minutes of blissful restorative stretching. All using the aerial hammock!
 

Intro to Aerial 

Have you been curious about Aerial? Come out for a fun intro class that shows you the basics so you will be prepared for any of our other Aerial classes! If you've been wondering if you can do it, this is our chance to show you that you CAN!!! 

Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga supports your body weight using a soft, cozy hammock. This provides you with the opportunity to perform anti-gravity postures, allowing for greater flexibility and more freedom of movement. The hammocks help to offer deeper and more accessible stretches. Aerial yoga can be a combination of traditional yoga asanas, inversions and strength moves, but you’ll always end in a delightful cocoon-like savasana. This rewarding class is both exciting and calming offering plenty of modifications to accommodate newbies and advanced yogis.

Restorative Aerial Yoga

Rejuvenate and restore with the aerial hammocks! Luxurious, liberating poses held longer than a flow class and mostly done low to the ground. Helps create length, space, and relaxation!

Please bring your own water bottle and towel to class.

Please arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to class start time.
