root SUP & Fitness offers a wide variety of fitness opportunities for all ages and abilities from our location in Shepherd's Old Field Market in downtown Leonardtown, MD. Classes include rootCamp, Yoga, and Aerial Yoga. We also be offer personal and group training, as well as hosting special events and workshops! Reserve and pay for classes online through our MINDBODY App. Private groups and events are by appointment only. Land Classes

root n rise rootcamp

This early morning rootcamp is designed to wake you up and set you up for a great day! Class is HIIT style and includes strength and core training as well as some cardio thrown in. Please sign up by 8pm the night before! If you cancel after 8pm or are a No Show you will be charged the full amount of the class (even if you are on an Unlimited Contract). Stay committed and go to bed early! We have showers so you'll be out by 6:25am at the latest!

40min of strength/cardio based moves using a variety of equipment (TRX, BOSU balls, dumbells, medicine balls, etc). Be prepared to sweat and burn a ton of calories!!! 10-15min of stretches designed to nourish and loosen up your body. 

Pilates

Mat Pilates is a low impact, yet serious strength workout that helps to ease low back pain, reduce body fat, improve flexibility and support mental well-being.  Each series of exercises works to balance all muscle groups' strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the CORE  muscles. In order to feel successful, modifications are encouraged for beginners or those with limitations. 

Your core is your POWERhouse!! This 30 minute class will emphasize strengthening of the core muscles ie, glutes, abdominals, hamstrings, low back, and hips.  This solid workout mixes in some mobility too so you won't get too sweaty BUT your POWERhouse will get all fired up! 

TRX/Core Fusion

TRX/Core Fusion is core-focused training, fusing equipment such as the TRX, Bosu, and versa discs with strength based moves to give you a great core workout! Come at lunch time and get a solid workout!

Strength & Balance

Work on the strength of your core to help improve your balance! This class is for all levels! From beginning to balance post-physical therapy, all the way up to the elite athlete looking to improve body awareness and joint integrity. Everyone can benefit from improved core strength and more efficient balance!

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) in a circuit style format combining strength and core exercises! Uses bodyweight and a variety of equipment!

Yoga

 

Morning Yoga Flow

Wake up your body and mind with a soothing and purposeful flow. Prepare for the weekend with a positive perspective, and work some movement into parts of your body that need a little TLC. This is a mixed level class with offered modifications, all levels of experience are welcome.

Weekend Warrior Yoga

Too busy during the week to get in a yoga class? Weekend Warrior Yoga is designed for those that can’t fit their practice in multiple times a week. This is a full-body experience that is energizing, stabilizing, and opening. This dynamic class features a steady flow and static poses to build strength and flexibility.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is an energetic practice that emphasizes the coordination of breath and movement. This practice is both therapeutic and active in nature. Benefits include increased strength, flexibility, balance, concentration and stress reduction . All levels are welcome!

All Levels Flow

Please bring your own mat to this beautiful, dreamy practice!  You will move calmly through sun salutations and warrior poses. Luxurious hip openers and hamstring stretches will also be offered and you will finish with a lovely meditation/relaxation.

Aerial Yoga

 

Kids Aerial

Sundays 10:30am in Ltown

For 6 weeks, your child can learn the benefits (and fun!) of the Aerial hammocks! This class takes place in our Ltown studio and will run from Aug 11~ Sept 15. Come to one, come to all! 

Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga uses a hammock to support your body weight to assist students to perform anti-gravity postures allowing for greater flexibility and more freedom of movement to offer deeper and more accessible stretches. Aerial yoga can be a combination of traditional yoga asanas, inversions and strength moves always ending in a delightful cocoon-like savasana. This rewarding class is both exciting and calming offering plenty of modifications.

Restorative Aerial Yoga

Rejuvenate and restore with the aerial hammocks! Luxurious, liberating poses are held for periods of time with the hammocks only 8-10 inches off of the ground. This dreamy practice helps create length, space, and total relaxation!

Grit 'n Grace Aerial

This class is great for all fitness levels! Combine strength training and aerial yoga to make a fun, total body workout! Improve your balance, strength, and flexibility using the aerial hammocks. Modifications/Options are always offered! For the safety of the hammocks, please be mindful of jewelry (rings/bracelets), zippers, etc that may get caught on and/or rip the fabric.

Aerial

This class is a mixture of all things aerial! A little bit of yoga, a little bit of core work, and a whole lot of fun! Come enjoy an hour in the hammock!
